Day... 1? | Daily Seedling RTS Devlog


Well, welcome to the first Devlog! As a heads up and to be up front, these logs are mainly to help me get more consistent with development. And to not slack off for days or even weeks at a time.

Even so, I welcome you! Glad to have you here, I hope you'll stay interested until I release the game for free. The plan right now is to have a nice simple game. This project is for practice after all, but perhaps once I see it as "finished" I'll think about more features or just move on to another game project.


Anyways, enough with the introductions. Here is my progress so far and a brief description of the game.

The plan is to make a top down RTS game where you control an army of plant like creatures to fight off a disease in your area. You will be able to command your Seedlings to grow into better units, structures, or more food to make more stuff! 


Current Features

Currently I have the base foundations working, where there are factions, and an enemy system so factions will attack enemies if they see them.

After a battle, you can make use of the corpses and carry them back to your "base" to turn them into nutrients. Nutrients is the currency you use to grow structures or create units.

For now that's about it! Thank you for spending the time to check out my project! It's still in early development of course, so art, sound, music, that's all an after thought currently. I hope it looks promising though, these (hopefully) daily logs will make it more interesting!
